Myopia (Nearsightedness)
Myopia is a condition that causes nearsightedness in which the eye can’t focus clearly at close distances. There are many different types of myopia, but the most common forms are – myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Myopia is caused by an increase in the curvature of the cornea, which causes light rays to focus in front of the retina instead of directly on it (like a camera). This can lead to blurred vision and difficulty seeing details clearly as far away as 20 inches from your face.
Diagnosis of myopia (Nearsightedness)
Myopia can be diagnosed by an eye care professional. The diagnosis will involve having you look at something through a distance measuring device called an autorefractor. This device measures how much extra space exists between the retina and the lens at each eye.
The results of this test will give an estimate of how far your eyes are from normal (i.e., a refractive error).
Treatment of myopia (Nearsightedness)
There are several treatments for myopia. Some of the most common treatments include laser surgery, contact lens wear, and implantation of EVO+ Visian ICL collagen lenses.
Costs for the treatment of myopia (Nearsightedness) in Germany
The cost of myopia treatment in Germany can vary based on what kind of treatment plan you choose. Most people who are interested in myopia treatment will want laser refractive surgery (LASIK), but there are other options available as well.
If you’re interested in LASIK, it might cost between €5.500 and €7.000.
