Glioma
Glioma is a type of brain tumor. It is a malignant tumor that grows in the brain, spine or other parts of the central nervous system. Gliomas are most common in children and young adults and are related to genetic and environmental factors.

Diagnosis of glioma
Gliomas are diagnosed by an MRI scan. MRI testing involves placing a thin magnetic field around your body, which allows doctors to see any abnormalities in your brain’s structure or function. The images captured by an MRI provide information about what part of your brain is affected and how it is functioning.
Another important factor that can be used in the diagnosis is biopsy, which involves removing a piece of tissue from the area around the tumor and taking a picture of it under a microscope.
Treatment of glioma
The treatment of gliomas depends on the type and severity of the tumor. In many cases, surgery is necessary to remove the tumor. If this is not possible, radiation therapy may be used to destroy the tumor cells. If surgery or radiation therapy does not work, chemotherapy can be used to kill cancer cells and prevent them from growing back. However, chemotherapy should not be used for more than three months at a time because it may lead to side effects such as fatigue and nausea; therefore, it should only be used when all other treatments have failed.
