Congenital lid nevus (Eyelid tumors)
Congenital lid nevus (Eyelid tumors) is a rare type of congenital skin tumor. It appears on the eyelids and may be painless or cause discomfort. Congenital lid nevi are typically benign, but they can sometimes become malignant.
There is no known cause for congenital lid nevi. They may develop in children between the ages of 3 months and 3 years, but they are more common in children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years.
The tumors most commonly occur on both sides of the eyelid, but they can also occur on just one side or in a single eyelid.
